Introduction

This module aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills to install, configure, and integrate FMR Workbench with .Stat Suite, enabling efficient management of SDMX structural metadata.

About this module

The sdmx.io initiative brings together open-source tools, patterns, guidance, learning resources and more into a cohesive and interoperable ecosystem centred on SDMX.

The Data Lifecycle Manager application itself doesn’t directly offer data structure creation or editing features. However, there are several solutions that provide such functionality. While some are closely integrating with the .Stat Suite, others require to create or edit data structures outside of the .Stat DLM and its data spaces. In this case, the data structures are to be downloaded and/or (re-) uploaded in the .Stat Suite in SDMX-ML format.

The integration of two of the most prominent SDMX platforms – the Fusion Metadata Registry (FMR) Workbench with the .Stat Suite, – represents a significant milestone in advancing interoperability and fostering open-source collaboration within the realm of official statistics.

What you’ll learn

By the end of this module, you’ll be equipped with the skills and knowledge to use FMR Workbench for metadata management and integration with the .Stat DLM.

Learning Objectives

In this module, you will learn to:

  • Summarise FMR Workbench and its use
  • Identify the similarities and differences between FMR and the FMR Workbench
  • Outline how FMR Workbench exports in supported formats
  • List the steps to download and configure the FMR Workbench
  • Explain how to integrate FMR Workbench web application with the .Stat DLM
